I also worked in the Hotel Express for 3 or 4 seasons. Prior to that I worked in The Popin Cafe in Pineda. It was manic on market day.
Just been back to Calella for a short break with my husband. The hotel that that was the Express is now The Atzavara Apartments and the other hotel opposite is now The Mediterrani Express. They are now run by Jo and Jaime's son and daughter. Lovely people. Had a meal out with Jo. Met up with Dinah from the Nags Head.
None of the madness there now that we experienced in the 70's 80's.
Had a great time though.
So nice to discover this forum. Finally! My name is Sandra, from the Netherlands, and I worked in Calella from 1992 to 1995. At Chic's, Delfin, Turisme 35, Ibiza, High (with Kim behind the bar), and Cocoloco (both evenings and after hours). I had a great time, met so many nice people back then. I stayed there year-round and had a great time with Dori from Mont Rosa. I moved to Barcelona in 1995 and stayed there until 2001. It's great to read these stories. Are there more people who worked and lived there in these years?
